Award

Across Nigeria and beyond, a new generation of changemakers under the age of 25 is rewriting the narrative of youth leadership. Armed with innovation, compassion, and resilience, these young leaders are transforming their communities in remarkable ways from tackling health challenges to driving climate action and digital innovation.

1. Chidera Nwosu (Age 23) – Digital Literacy Advocate

Founder of Tech4Teens Africa, Chidera has trained over 2,000 secondary school students in Lagos and Anambra on coding, cybersecurity, and digital entrepreneurship.

2. Fatima Abdullahi (Age 21) – Girls’ Education Campaigner

From Bauchi State, Fatima runs the Books Before Brides campaign, helping over 500 girls return to school while advocating against early marriage.

3. David Oladimeji (Age 24) – Green Energy Entrepreneur

Through his startup SolarEase, David has installed affordable mini-solar grids in rural Oyo communities, reducing dependence on kerosene and generators.

4. Mariam Lawal (Age 19) – Health Volunteer

A medical student in Ilorin, Mariam organizes Free Health Saturdays, offering basic checkups, malaria tests, and hygiene education in underserved villages.

5. Kelvin Eze (Age 22) – Creative Arts for Change

Founder of Theatre for Tomorrow, Kelvin uses stage plays to address drug abuse, gender-based violence, and unemployment in Enugu schools.

6. Blessing Okon (Age 20) – Agripreneur

Blessing runs a small-scale aquaculture and vegetable farm in Akwa Ibom, training 150 other youths on sustainable farming practices.

7. Yusuf Ibrahim (Age 24) – Peacebuilder

In Kaduna, Yusuf leads Voices for Peace, an initiative that brings Christian and Muslim youth together for dialogue and conflict resolution workshops.

8. Anita George (Age 18) – Climate Activist

One of the youngest eco-warriors in Cross River, Anita has planted over 3,000 trees through her GreenFuture Teens Club while campaigning against deforestation.

9. Samuel Ojo (Age 25) – Disability Inclusion Advocate

Founder of Enable Access Initiative, Samuel provides mobility aids and digital training to persons with disabilities in Ibadan.

10. Aisha Mohammed (Age 23) – Social Innovator

Through her project SkillHer Africa, Aisha equips young women in Kano with tailoring and digital marketing skills, empowering them for financial independence.

A Generation of Change
