Guinness World Records has officially confirmed that Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has cooked her way into history again this time for creating the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz).
The record-breaking feat took place on September 12, 2025, at Eko Hotels and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos, during the Gino World Jollof Festival, a grand culinary celebration that drew thousands of attendees and captivated social media.
Baci, who first gained global fame in 2023 by setting the Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, has now cemented her status as one of Nigeria’s most celebrated chefs.
The festival turned into a star-studded affair with appearances by Funke Akindele, Enioluwa Adeoluwa, Tomike Adeoye, Pastor Idowu, and Bamidele Abiodun, wife of the Ogun State Governor, all present to cheer on the chef’s latest achievement.
This second Guinness World Record not only highlights Baci’s culinary talent and showmanship but also spotlights Nigeria’s vibrant food culture on the global stage.
