Digital Realty Nigeria and its Managing Director, Engr. Ikechukwu Nnamani, have been recognised as leaders in Africa’s technology sector, clinching top honours at the 10th African Digital Economy Awards held in Nairobi, Kenya.
The company won the Data Center Provider of the Year award, while Nnamani was named Data Center Leader of the Year, a dual recognition that underscores their pivotal role in advancing Nigeria’s digital infrastructure.
The awards follow the recent launch of Digital Realty’s third data center, LKK2, in Lagos, a move that further cements its position as a key player in Africa’s fast-growing technology landscape. The firm was praised for delivering world-class facilities that power Nigeria’s digital economy, while Nnamani’s accolade reflects his visionary leadership in building the nation’s most connected data center.
Speaking after the ceremony, Nnamani expressed gratitude for the recognition, attributing the achievements to the dedication of his team and the wider Nigerian technology community. He described the awards as motivation to continue driving innovation in data center solutions, ensuring Nigeria remains at the forefront of Africa’s digital transformation.
“We are committed to providing infrastructure that empowers businesses and strengthens a digitally-driven economy,” Nnamani said.
Akin Naphtal, founder of the African Digital Economy Awards, commended both Nnamani and Digital Realty for their leadership in the data connectivity ecosystem. He noted that their efforts in enabling seamless data exchange, cloud services, and enterprise solutions have positioned the company as Nigeria’s most connected data center.
Now in its 10th year, the African Digital Economy Awards celebrates pioneers who are shaping the continent’s digital future. The recognition of Digital Realty Nigeria and its managing director not only highlights their current achievements but also signals a promising future for Nigeria as a hub for digital innovation and investment.
