The Straight Child Foundation (TSCF), a non-governmental organisation based in Umuahia, Abia State, has received the 2025 Quality Performance Award from MiracleFeet, an international charity dedicated to ending clubfoot disability worldwide.
The award jointly signed by MiracleFeet’s Technical Director, Anna Cuthel, and Director of Programs, Enmanuel Otoo honours TSCF’s outstanding delivery of clubfoot treatment that meets rigorous global standards.
MiracleFeet, which supports programs in more than 30 countries, praised TSCF for its consistency in applying best practices, training local health professionals, and ensuring Nigerian children born with clubfoot receive world-class care.
Reacting to the recognition, Mr. Uchenna Egbe-Eni, TSCF’s and MiracleFeet’s Country Program Coordinator, described the award as the product of “teamwork and perseverance.”
“Like many good things, the sweat and grease are not seen. What is often obvious is the glory,” Egbe-Eni said. “This award is a testimony to our hard work individual and collective. No one could have achieved it alone.”
Egbe-Eni expressed gratitude to God and reaffirmed the team’s commitment to expanding their impact beyond clubfoot treatment into broader healthcare and community development.
He noted that the honour underscores Nigeria’s growing role in global health initiatives and highlights the value of partnerships between local organisations and international bodies in tackling preventable disabilities.
Clubfoot, a congenital deformity affecting roughly one in every 800 children worldwide, can lead to lifelong disability if untreated. MiracleFeet’s recognition, Egbe-Eni said, positions Nigeria at the forefront of efforts to provide accessible, affordable, and effective care for affected children.
